- I've fallen in love with Creepy Carrots!
I’ve fallen in love with Creepy Carrots.
Remember you favorite all-time book as a kid? How you loved to read it over and over again? How nothing was quite as good as being tucked in after someone reading you that particular book at night? I’m willing to bet that Creepy Carrots is going to be that book for a lot of kids whose parents or grandparents make certain it’s part of their story collection.
Jasper Rabbit is a bunny to whom kids are sure to relate—and he loves carrots! Carrots! Carrots! Carrots! Jasper’s carrots come from Crackenhopper field and he takes them often. You can never have too much of a good thing right? Wrong! Suddenly, all those carrots seem to be following our friend Jasper mercilessly!
What can Jasper do? Carrots are everywhere, but his dad seems to think they are just a bad dream and his mom attributes them to his overactive imagination! Jasper decides to solve the problem himself, and sets about doing so.
I won’t ruin the wonderful twist at the end of this tale, but it’s one that kids of all ages are sure to enjoy. (I’ve told every parent of a young child I’ve encountered about Creepy Carrots since reading it last week!)
Do your little ones and yourself a favor and add some Creepy Carrots to story time soon!
- A Not So Creepy Story with Morals
Every rabbit loves carrots, especially Jasper Rabbit. His favorite carrots are the ones that come from Crackenhopper Field. He loves the carrots from this field so much that he stops and takes some every day. He then gets to the point where he takes them several times a day. He takes and takes and takes.
Until one day, when Jasper starts seeing creepy carrots everywhere. They follow him home, and before long he even sees them inside of his home! What will make the creepy carrots go away? Or is it all in Jasper’s head?
The target age for this book is 4-8. I read it to my 5 and 6 year old and they said “It was good, and just a little creepy”.
This was not just a fun book, it also teaches children an important lesson on greed.
